In the men's doubles final, Toronto's Daniel Nestor and partner Nenad Zimonjic of Serbia defeat the American pairing of Bob and Mike Bryan 6-2, 4-6, 10-6.
- 2008 - Relief pitcher Rich "Goose" Gossage and former manager Dick Williams are inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, New York.
